i think if every person on this earth stands on his/her individual commitments then world is a better place to live in.Rather than pointing on others,i pointed myself and made some resolutions on 1st jan 2008.

So now on 31st jan 2008 it gives me immense pleasure that for the first time i've kept my resolutions throughout the complete year and i observe that my life now is 75-80% much better than what it was in 2007.

so that according to me is the best thing that has happened to my world as i've seen upgradation on every front in my life.So i think if every person makes his world better,this question would be simply humor as only the best will happen to you.

To me, markets setting out themselves to establish equality in this world by making rich people poorer and bringing heavens closer to mother earth is the best thing ever to have happened.
The next best thing was that markets continued to resist every move by Governments to restore inequality, when they stood fort and negated all interventions of their predicted implications.
The last thing was that markets sent across a new meaning for the 'invisible hand' theory floated by Adam Smith to its uncritical followers, with such profound impact that most of them will remember it in their lifetime.
