Sehwag was warned because he had made a public statement
about ganguly which proclaimed him to be supportive of ceratin members of the team. He also stated that Ganguly was influential in shaping some of the careers of the team members.
He was duly warned from doing so as this might bring unrest in the team dressing room.........

No the BCCI was not justified in GAGGING Virendra Sehwag . I think the new BCCI are a bunch of Bullies who want to simply prove that they have the financial muscle to GAG everyone including their players and Mr Dalmiya. Mr Dalmiya is the one who is responsible for so much money coming into cricket .BCCI should alteast honour him. Mr Pawar, this kind of hounding was least expected from a person of your stature .Finally , a word about Mr Lalit Modi,so called financial wizard of the BCCI ........he should know that " every dog has his day " .He should cool down and not bask so brazenly in his new found glory of raking in the moolah for BCCI .

The issue was........he favoured Ganguly by saying that team sometimes misses Ganguly and also Ganguly backed some of the team players including Sehwag when they were going through bad patch of the career. Also He said, Ganguly played a big role in rising some players like Harbhajan, Kaif and more.
This is truth and BCCI not at all should even try to shut the mouth of such a senior and key player when he is telling the truth. This is very unfortunate and may impact the performance of the player as well as the team.
Thanks

Sehwag made statements about cricketers especially Saurav Ganguly without permission from Cricket control board of India. His remarks were making clear opinions about his team mates which was unfair. Hence warning can be justified and not his remarks.

The BCCI has warned Virender Sehwag for not only mentioning that ganguly must be back in the side to the media reporters but also for mentioning about the player burn out. He said that a tight schedule affects the performance of the player and also it degenerates the physical and mental strength. For this the BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah had replied that players cannot speak about board policies and selection matters.

Issues regarding "player burn out" through excessive cricket and matters relating to ex captain. (that is selection or lack of)
All the players are contracted by the BCCI. The terms and conditions of the contract are known (or should be known) to all the players. BCCI has acted in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.

Barbers in India have recently discovered a new easier way to normally hard to shave beards of BCCI board members. While shaving, they just murmur - ganguly, ganguly .......ganguly; and immediately the beard hairs are erected vertically facilitating the shaving process and thereby reducing shaving time. However, after Sehwag's announcement, the shaving time is further reduced and BCCI board members did not like the same and thus had issued the warning to Sehwag.

He was warned not to make any statement relating to team selection and inclusion/noninclusion of other players.Sehwag is entitled to freedom of speech. But he is also a cricketer representing his country and he is serving under the BCCI.Therefore it is his duty to act responsibly and not make statements regarding other players or for that matter any such statement which will create a controversy and will threaten the stability and unity of the team.

Sehwag said that everone in the team missed Ganguly and that he was instrumental in giving lot of players chances in the team and uppin their careers so i guess thats why the BCCI warned him against making such statements.

Shewag never spoke out when he was playing well. He needed to take shelter hehind something to deflect attention from his inadequacies. The Ganguly rubbish was a convenient peg. Somehow also conveyed the impression that Ganguly was the champion of non-performers... Birds of the same feather stick together.

Easy Mate.. Here is the story,
a) Team India Misses Ganguly
b) Kiran More wants to take revenge on Dalmia and so he is showing his anger on Ganguly and misusing his power.
c) Shewag let the media know that they miss Ganguly.
d) And Hence, the Board is trying to seal the players mouth from speakin the truth.
Source(s):
Earlie, Harbajan Sing was warned when he said Ganguly should be selected back,
Yuvraj was warned when he said Ganguly Will make a come back and he'd rather love watching him play sitting in the pavellion than taking his place.
Even the commentators were warned not to talk about Ganguly.

1. Sehwag was asked by the BCCI to SHUT UP and not say a word of good about Ganguly because it is against what Raj Singh Dungarpur(team manager) and Kiran More(chairman of selectors; big joke) state about Ganguly in public, which the BCCI obviously can't "afford".
2. Sehwag was also asked to SHUT UP about important issues as player burnouts because if players say they dont want to play too many matches, where will BCCI get money from???? a real tragedy... and i don think the BCCI is justified.

Not at all. Nowadays Cricket has become a profession under ESMA without any privilege other than BIG MONEY. BCCI is churning MONEY from the MAD public showing the Players performances and at the same time don't want to loose control over them. But I wonder how can they control even the Foreign Commentaters. Can they control the foreign commentators in the World Cup 2007, if they compare and comment about Ganguly, on the foreign soil?. When Ganguly brought name and fame to the country, BCCI was happy. When the top brass changes, even the policies change, more rapidly after More took over as Chairman of Selection Committee. But what contribution Mr More made for the Indian Cricket. Every body knows his behaviour behind the stumps and his bad performance with the bat. I have my doubt whether Chappell would have been used for the purpose.

VIRENDRA SEHWAG WA WARNED FOR PUBLICALLY COMMENTING ABOUT ,
1 EXCESSIVE CRICKET AND
2 HE SAID THAT THE TEAM SOMETIMES FEEL THE NEED OF SOURAV GANGULY.
FOR HIS STATEMENT HE WAS WARNWD BY MR. S.K.NAIR.
I THINK THAT THE WARNING GIVEN TO HIM IS TOTALLY JUSTIFIED BECAUSE HIS OPINION MIGHT DIVIDE OUR INDIAN CRICKRT TEAM.
OUR BOARD IS THERE AND ITS THE WORK OF SELECTORS TO DECIDE WHO SHOULD BE IN THE TEAM.

actually sehwag was warned by bcci not to speak about what happened on the issue of ganguly..and he warned not to make any statement about the former captain of the indian team.. but in a democratic country have right to speak about every body then why can't a celebrity speak about a person who was considered as the best captain of indian team

sehwag was warned because he has been making public stattements on the matters related to selections process.this could completly hinder the basis on which very indian team was standing.to make the matters more complicated he has even been supporting ganguly publicly on matters relating to his comeback in the team.
bcci is no way justified to do so,as they have no right to curb rights of speech.every individual has got his right to express his views.the job of selection committe is only to select players for the team ,and they should in no way deal with personnal feelings of players.this could even result in lack of players belief in bcci.

WELL HE WAS WARNED FOR ON 2 ISSUES,
1. ON THE BURNOUT ISSUES OF PLAYERS
2. ON HIS STATEMENT WHERE HE SAID 'HE MISSES GANGULY'
WELL YES THE WARNING COULD BE JUSTIFIED, ISSUES WHICH ARE STILL UNDER PROGRESSIVE ACTION & WHOSE RESULTS ARE KEPT CLOSED SHOULD BE THE WAY TILL THE FINAL DAY. WELL HE JUST SAID WHAT HE THOUGHT BUT THEN AGAIN SOMETIMES NEED TO PAY A LOT FOR BEING A CELEBRITY & THEREFORE BE CAREFUL IN GIVING STATEMENTS FOR PUBLIC BECAUSE WE KEEP WATCHING & REACTING TO SUCH ISSUES FOR NO REASON AT ALL.

Why should sehwag be warnedfor speaking his mind or for speaking the real truth.Selectors like K More have become selectors from the back door or by BROWNOSING.Kiran more is a litle short heighted pain in the **** who never contributed much for cricket but wants everybody to treat him and BCCI as EMPEROR.Maybe he is watching lot of Mughele-ajam.Ganguly was the Bravest and the best Captain to lead from front. What More And BCCI wants is a Puppy Dog teamand Captain to say Yes all the time.

BCCI did stupid job by firing such a grat player like Ganguly for their personnel interest. He stand by the team when team was drowning. He lift up the team moral encourage team like a great leader. Cricket need the leader on the field who can use all his forces to get the team win does not matter his personnel performance, it was his bad day he could not produce his person eel result.

4 all the people out there who want ganguly to be back i think u really r stupid. greg chappel has done the greatest thing for indian cricket by dropping ganguly. now only sehwag and tendulkar need to be dropped.tendulkar has been the worlds worst batsman 4 the last 5 years and in that same time period brian lara made 400*. sehwag is very consistent in making 20 off 10 balls in each match. if he is being kept in the team for that then even i should be selected for the indian team. dhoni, dravid and yuvraj r showing wat the new india team is capable of and their results in the last 6 months have shown that they r arguably the best team in the world at the moment.

Yes.He was warned on the issues like indiscipline. You cannot express your feeling unless you are asked to do so and he is not official spokesman of the team and that too when he is not performing well for the team. I think Sehwag should concentrate more on his lost batting perfomance than any other issues.
