Alright, Windows Vista is the latest operating system turned out by Microsoft. Seeing as I've been using it for the past several days, I'll go ahead and tell you what I know about it, but do a little more research on it if you're lost.
Vista is a complete revamp from its predecessor Windows XP. It focuses a lot on keeping your computer safe from malicious software. Also, they added this nifty little feature that searches for a solution to any problems that come up on your PC.
It's easy to navigate once you've gotten the hang of it, but the take off is rough. It also includes the new Internet Explorer, which added features like tabbed browsing and improved pop-up blocker.
There are some cons, though. You need at least a gigabyte of RAM to run it properly. As it stands, I'm running it on 512 megabytes and it takes a second to respond to some of my commands. Another thing is that its relatively new. All the bugs haven't been worked out of it yet, and people are still encountering some problems when trying to run certain programs. The last con I've seen is that they released the operating system before any hardware came out that was truly compatible, so some people have also been having problems with that. At least I have as far as my graphics card is concerned.
Anyways, hope this helps. Like I said, I'm not a computer expert, so you may want to do a little bit of research on your own as well.
