In Democracy you can become a dictator without any doubt. This is advantage. The disadvantage is many dectators will be there to compete with you.

In Dictatorship you will have the chance to rule sole but disadvantage is it will finally lead to democracy alias dictatorship again.

Democracy is all the people ,by the people and for the people as per Abraham Lincon.John loche is the father of democracy.in democracy we select some body from ourselves to rule us .So we public have a say and they don't like the ruler they can change them .that is one of the biggest advantage. But in democracy you should be a good responsible person to select a party or the ruler who is good for the country as a whole .In today's democracy in India we can see perversion is pervading through ever thing .Whether party or individual all are for themselves.Dictator ship comes also out of the barrel of a gun where public have no say .They have to obey the ruler what ever he say .You can never change a dictator without shedding blood .I f there is a honest and patriotic dictator come in to power he can change the face of the country by imposing the policy in to practise :-"EVERY GREAT CAUSE MUST HAVE A BLIND OBEDIENCE " Only a dictator can do it ..Not the democracy as people and politicians are so corrupt, selfish, power corrupted ,Hippocratic and unpatriotic

Look at America and all the rights and opportunities we have. That's the advantage of a democracy....The advantages of a dictatorship... only benefits the dictator. Oh and I guess nobody has to think for themselves because they would just be ordered what to do all the time.

    Democracy:
    Goods:
    Freedom
    Rights
Judicial laws that make sense (most of the time)
    No Gestapo
    Bad:
    Slow
    Heated hate debates
    public opinions matter
Only works when the people actually care for their government, instead of bitching about their leadership then doing nothing about it.
    Dictatorship:
    Goods:
    Fast (almost immediate)
No need for the people to care about anything
    Bad:
    No Freedom
Law is based on 1 person's idea of right and wrong , and it usually applies to everyone but the person making the law.
Gestapo (or some likeness of it)
    No rights

Depends on whether or not the dictatorship is educated and ethical, and whether the democracy is educated and ethical.

I'd take an educated, ethical, and benign dictatorship over rule by the unruly masses.

I'd take a flawed democracy over the rule of an unethical oligarchy that we currently have in power.

A dictatorship works a lot faster than democracy. A democracy is more expensive, since it's basically a bunch of red tape. A dictatorship tends to ignore people's individual rights though. Also, a dictatorship can become unstable when the dictator dies.
