How can I enable my regedit and task manager?

Question

Regedit in my pc has been disabled, I also have duplicate folders, which i did not create some have ".exe" files. How can i remove them. I am currently run off AVG.

It is caused by virus . Use kaspersky or nod32 or bit defender antivirus . AVG is waste . If you dont get back taskmanager and regedit by methods others said then back up the files you want in the desktop and mydocuments . Then start windows in safe mode and log in as administrator . Then delete your user account and create a new account ! Its very important to change your anti virus software

well if regedit has been disabled, get ur admin to re-enable it or give u admin privileges.
The duplicate folders with exe files sound like a virus to me . run a scan with AVG, altho i highly recommend u use kaspersky antivirus - simply the best :P

Registry
======
There is a function on the regedit and that is to 'export' the registry to a safe place BEFORE you play with it.

It will export the registry to anyplace on your hd so if you screw up you can 'IMPORT' it back as it was before you played with it.

there are 3 of them on my own puter, all 15kb
they are located in
c:\windows
c:\windows\system32
c:\windows\system32\dllcache

now search for regedit.exe
there are two and 143kb
c:\windows
c\windows\system32\dllcache

go to GPO editor and edit the policy start up and task manager under local computer.

userconfiguration>administrative templates>system>ctrl+alt+del option
doubleclick "remove taskmanager" enable
