terrorism is a scary thing 3000 lives lost on 911, but if you compare it with deaths by bee stings or pedestrian accidents and such its not that out of line with most tragedies. bee stings kill 5,983 us citizens per year, pedestrian vs auto 6,471 drunken drivers kill 18,644 per year, homicide 24,378

Absolutely right. The fear is misplaced. The terrorist threat is more 'scary' to our primitive brains so it gets a bigger response. Some people use this to their advantage. We should be putting all this money and resources into fighting cancer because that kills more people than all of those things combined! We should leave the terrorist-killing to our intelligence agencies.
