Deleting XP if it is not in the C:\ partition is as simple as formatting the partition that contains it. You do this from the inside of Vista Disk Management console. However, be careful to back up all your files and documents on that partition.
After you have uninstalled XP, you have to remove its entry in the boot.ini file.

Vista has a built-in partition manager called Disk Management.

Are you sure you want to delete it? We purchased two new computers for Christmas (A laptop and a desk top) and both were preinstalled with Vista. Last week I purchased a digital camera and ended up having to return it to Wal-mart last night because the software that came with it was only for windows 2000, and XP. I emailed the company that made the camera to see if they had a driver for the Vista and didn't get any response from them. What good is Vista if companies don't have the software for it? If I were you, I would keep both.
