One of the most controversial ideas about Hindu history is the Aryan invasion theory. This theory, originally devised by F. Max Muller in 1848, traces the history of Hinduism to the invasion of India's indigenous people by lighter skinned Aryans around 1500 BCE.

Eighteenth Century Europeans Colonialists & Explorers came across very advanced & ancient Civilizations ( in comparison to their Own Culture & Civilization ) , so it was generally argued that Dark skinned races like those of us Hindus ...weren't in no position to have such an advanced civilization ....so it was theorised that Modern Day High Caste Hindus may have been migrants from Europe ...who came to india via Iran...The idea was interesting & also easily acceptable to European Colonialists ...who saw Hindu Civilization had impact in countries as far as Japan & Phillipines &* soloman Islands ( HINDU BUDDHIST CULTURE ) .

Congress Government that came to power also forwarded this theory since it was a useful political tool & was against the very basics of hinduism.

Why is the theory no longer accepted By Modern Day European Historians ?
Modern historians of the area no longer believe that such invasions had such great influence on Indian history. It's now generally accepted that Indian history shows a continuity of progress from the earliest times to today.

Dangers of the theory:

The Aryan invasion theory denies the Indian origin of India's predominant culture, but gives the credit for Indian culture to invaders from elsewhere.
It even teaches that some of the most revered books of Hindu scripture are not actually Indian, and it devalues India's culture by portraying it as less ancient than it actually is.

My hypothesis ,

on closer study of History .... is that Indo Greeks ( ARYANS ) were remanents , who remained behind to rule Persia & Central Asia , long after Alexander's invasion of India . They had adopted Buddhism ( & Spread Buddhism ) .were deeply .influenced by sophisticated Dravadian-Sanskrit Literature & Philosophy ..were also responsible for influencing Central Asian Languages with Sanskrit ..
Any similarities found between Sanskrit language & Central Asian Languages , you can blame the Aryans .
Sanskrit influenced Central Asian & European Languages ,like it did S.E Asian Languages.
British Colonialists deliberately misinterpreted History as "Aryans Brought Sanskrit "...
Ancient North Indians were Dravadians as well ...but demography of Northern India propably changed in the last 2000 years ( Invasions) , as did Culture & Language .Christian Europe was too backward , they remained under Roman rule for a 2000 years,owe their civilization to Romans &greeks

This theory of aryan invasion was research based on some historical reference, but there is no proof about invasion. As you said it is a theory only and not practical.

To divide the hindus, some persons will take this job saying about aryans and they are not clever because of their comparison of the present persons living with ancient people.

To get political gains and they are utilising this weapon. They wecome muslims, englishmen, frenchmen and respect them. The aryans are not kings or emperors to invade another country. Their home land is india only.

yes, they are trying to divide the hindus...not now. This is done for the past 70 years, but no one there to hear is the beauty. They want to fool the people, but people doesn't care them and really ignoring those mad men.

my limited knowledge on the subject is that didnt they trace some of the vaders chants (sic) language back to the aryans and thats how they came up with the theory.

YOU MUST REMEMBER... BEFORE THE "ARYAN MIGRATION THEROY" WE HAD THE "ARYAN INVASION THEORY" EN THATS WHAT IT IS A THEORY WE HAVE NO PROOFS!
THE WORD "ARYAN" HAS IT ORIGIN IN THE VEDIC CULTURE OF INDIA, THATS WERE MAX MÜLLER TOOK THE WORD FROM WHICH MEANS "NOBLE". THE AUTHORS OF THE VEDAS CALLED THEMSELVES ARYANS. THEREFOR TO KNOW MORE ABOUT ARYANS ONE SHOULD LOOK WHAT THE VEDAS SAY. EN THEY DONT SPEAK OF A HOMELAND FAR AWAY.

ARYANS WERE IMMIGRANTS JUST LIKE THE BANGLADESHIS OF TODAY.they brought nothing in terms of culture. they adpted to our culture. remember cross mingling has been occuring for ages. chandragupta mauryamarried a greek Vikramaditya married a balkhan princess.THERE ARE MANY WHITESKINNED PEOPLE WHO ADOPT INDIAN CULTURE AND RELIGION AND PROPOGATE HINDU CULTURE. You need to learn about the AIT first. The word caucasian comes from caucasus. Nobody said the Aryans in India came from Europe. They are said to have migrated from near the caucasus mountains in Russia. They migrated to Iran, India, Central Asia and Europe too. Infact much of the known world was conquered by Aryans. That is why Europeans have this fascination of calling themselves Aryans when they are the mixture of Aryans and previously existing Europeans. The Indian Aryans of North are pure given that they've always followed marriages only in caste. Aryans are in no way Indo greeks who arrived much later and might have left small genetic markers near Afghanistan. Remember Alexander lost all taste for battle in India after just a one battle with a northern Indian state. Infact, Aryans fought the Greeks. Aryans in India did not arrive from Europe but went to Europe as well as India and Russia. It was a gradual migration over centuries. Infact newer invaders were always there with most times Aryans fighting other so called Aryan tribes from central Asia. Hence the scythians or modern day Jats and Yadavas and Gujjars or the white huns were later migrations of Aryans but are classified lower on the caste hierarchy. In some cases they share common or similar sounding surnames with Rajputs too. Even Parsis have similar surnames like Hindus eg Gandhi, Mehta etc. The outsiders were considered as mleccha by Aryans already existing in India because they did not follow the vedic way of karma and one's role in society. Common Genetic traits have been found amongst many populations in the world. Over time many have acquired a deep tan being that India has a tropical climate. The vedic practices are the closest to the remains of Aryan rituals discovered in Russia. Europeans may have used it to justify their wrongdoings but it does not change the facts. The British never worked for the good of India but for England and the queen. They did not consider it home or considering the vast migrations into India in History they could have also become Indians, provided they cared for the people of India. That is what made the British wrong.

It's a bit to late in the day to try to convince everyone that we are Dravidians and not Aryan when all evidence points to the contrary. Being proud of my Aryan heritage does not mean i lick the boots of Europeans. That is an inferiority complex of the Tamils. We Aryans have defeated Europe too Eons ago! I belong to a community that has an even more glorious history than modern day Europeans who can only daydream of becoming Aryan. Tamils lost, get over it.

India is weakened by lower castes like you who have never had to fight but always want easy handouts like reservations claiming discrimination. You hold others in contempt but never yourself for not doing anything! What have you done for India that you so despise North Indians?
