Iam planning to buy lcd tv or plasma tv of 42 inch,which brand is better and cheaper?

Donot go for cheap brands as quality really matters...these things are not taken many times, so buy the best one....
well, first of all, i'd suggest u to tak LCD instead of Plasma...go for Sony or Samsung LCDs as they r just the best....
and if u've made up ur mind for plasma only, then go for panasonic...I've one plasma at home, for the same brand...and its really nice...

LCD is longer lasting and more reliable. Also much more fixable. If the screen goes bad on a plasma it's cheaper to buy a new one. Where I work Sony comes back the least but are the most expensive. I personally like Sanyo. Much cheaper than a Sony and better quality than a Vizio. Samsung are expensive and over rated. Sharp is also very good quality.

well samsung is a very good tv and its cheaper than sony, phillips, polaroid and other big brand names and the good thing is that samsung is made by sony but its alot cheaper
