Any Tips on...........?

Question

Can someone give me real tips on "Group Discussion"....my campus placements are going on and i need to tackle them...i clear the test , but fail in "GD" , please help me , and give some power tricks that never fail...well , i am good in communication skills,,,but get nervous...........?? any tips.......?

Group Discussion is about connecting with the people asking you the questions and project yourself as a true leader and a charismatic person. These are the tips I personally use when in a similar situation:
1. Everyone is nervous. If you are not, then something is wrong. Just don't let it overwhelm you. Think clearly and feel confident and tell yourself repeatedly: I CAN DO IT.
2. If you think you are good in communication skills, let others know it. Dont uh..and duh... in between. Try not to.
3. Look into the eyes of each person you are talking to and involve them. Nod with everyone statement and generally remain happy and convincing. This make you charismatic and make the people around feel involved
4. If you have got the feeling that your whole body is shaking and you are sweating and you think that not even a word will come out of your mouth, take deep breaths and drink a glass of water. Close your eyes and don't think of the consequences lest you fail. Convince yourself that there will be none, because you won't fail.
5. Be genuine. Don't fake an accent or show off your knowledge. It pisses of people like nothing.
