Yahoo! Answers (India/Worldwide) has given me a platform to help others. Sharing knowledge is considered best everywhere. You share with others, they share with someone else and you. In this way everyone learns something new, something worthy, something which might prove itself helpful or significant later in our lives. The direct impact on me is that it gives me a chance to help others, exercise my brain, revise my thoughts, learn something new, and the most importantly, experiencing the satisfaction of helping someone. Whenever you feel like asking or answering, you can log on to Yahoo! Answers and get to share or learn something new, even if its the most trivial information you have come across. You can always discover something here. After all a little extra-knowledge won't harm anyone.

up course Yahoo answers do impact on our life provided the questions must relevant and based on evidences and proofs. If the questions are not supported by any facts the answers will be based on the present culture of the society. If questioners ask questions with prejudiced views and with bad intentions for defaming any religions or communities naturally the answers will be based on the present culture of that communities.I also request to the yahoo qualified management to go through such questions and answers than allow it or reject it. The question and answers are for gaining knowledge about anything about the world communities including religions, Culture etc. The yahoo must take impartial steps for expression of thoughts with out prejudice views. Some the yahoo team members are complaining about it.

I started with asking some questions. But the real enjoyment came when I started giving answers to the questions and a few of them have been declared as the best one. To share the knowledge and help the needy gives lot of satisfaction and sharing knowledge not only help others but also increases your own knowledge and gives a sense of peace at mind. Yahoo! Answers has helped me out with questions that even Google couldn't answer. I know that I can't usually get a truthful answer if I were to ask someone a personal question in real life, but on Yahoo! Answers, people are more honest when helping me out with personal experiences or problems. It's really great to look forward to, also. When you post a question that you really want to know the answer to, you look forward to checking the site frequently to see what answers you get and it makes you feel great when you get a really nice answer from someone who took their time to write you a long comment <3. I really like to answer others' questions because of multiple reasons:
- It's nice to take your time to answer someone's question and they will appreciate it
- Sometimes it makes you feel proud to know what you're talking about ;]
- And even though Best Answer is just 10 pts, it makes you feel so great that the Asker liked your answer the most and that you affected them in some way (:

It has had a good influence..To people like me who are interested in learning, sharing, gaining knowledge it is a great platform..

Sometimes pleasant, sometimes benign, sometimes solacing, sometimes humorous, sometimes weird, sometimes disturbing, sometimes benevolent but always a learning, guiding, mentoring influence is what can be quoted in short.. All this can very well be considered synonymous to Y! answers...

Y! can be considered with all its people a mentor, guide, philosopher, great friend, a parama mitra, good school of learning..

With Y! Q & A i'm sure we'd always be life long learners and in the quest for more knowledge and wisdom...

At the outset, I wish to thank the team of yahoo answers for giving the platform for people to share their knowledge in various different fields of interest. Yahoo answers has been an eye opener for all with regard to knowledge.

I wish to thank all the persons who have answered my questions.

Yahoo answers has been a very good website not only for me but also for anybody for finding answers to almost all doubtful questions.

On the other hand, when people ask questions looking for the answers people have always answered with humor in questions and humorous answers without hurting the sentiments of any individuals. I am also a freelance writer, thinker I always think that I have all the freedom to write on any topic my personal views/ideas/opinions etc. as much as any other person.

It's such a great community here I thought it must have came a long way, more than 4 years or so.

Anyway, being an internet forum, it certainly had, virtually, bridge the gap between every corners for the world. The most impact it had on me is basically being able to interact with users from around the world, and I learn alot.

It's not the same as when I'm at other forum, as most of other forums that I joint is either local forum, or some computer hardware forum, or sports forum, where the discussion is basically just limited to that range of subject itself.

And I've also got to know many wonderful contacts here, in a way that I've never did anywhere else.

Besides that, I do finds myself spending lots of time here answering questions, it's like an addiction lol. But so far it's fine, it just takes up my free time which I'll be spending it playing video games which isn't more useful than being at Y!A here anyway.

Most importantly, Yahoo! Answers has taught me that even if you have interests that seemingly don't go together at all, it's still not hard to find someone with those same interests most of the time. I've met some very interesting people through Yahoo! Answers, and have made some great friends.

I get to know how the people in various age groups are thinking. It also helps me to assist others who need some practical sound advice.
I am able to do service to humanity through my fellowmen or netmen or netpersons (netmen and netwomen) trying to steer them to achieve their dreams and aspiration, removing the darkness of ignorance and prejudice. It also helps me to find possible options to my questions.
It helps me to contribute to make this world a better place.

I personally joined yahoo.answers for following interests of mine:

1. I am a counselor and I love counseling & helping people in need. It is very essential in today's world.
2. Understanding the state of mind of different people by reading their answers, views or opinion about a certain event, issue or question.
3. Using it as search engine.
4. Doing a survey on certain matter or issue.

I am really indebted to all those who ask questions to get proper answers and made me to come out with answers. They made me to search dictionaries, encyclopedias and such other knowledgeable areas. I too added more knowledge from their questions. I was rewarded by many of them by accepting my answers and they really made me happy.
Because of this site, I am spending my time in a very useful way.

I love Yahoo answers in every way coz it keeps ur knowledge updated,
I used to think of helping ppl when they are depressed n I got the chance over here.
I wanted to do something good in life n I got 2 girls married,
I wanted to struggle n satisfy n make a girl love me I think I did that.
I was in a search of a lovely life partner I found her.
I wanted to help children at their right time n I was able to do that for at least 15 over hers, ( The happiest thing I found over here ).
and so so many things that doesn't come out coz of such a nice question, n I can say its the best platform but found many misguiding also.
It would be better if kids are removed from here mercilessly coz most of them are being mis guided by the kids itself,due to which yahoo answers is getting a bad name n openion between ppl, if this aspect is taken care yahoo answers can be pronounced the best site on the web.

You know the reason human beings today are the dominant species is because human beings developed a way to communicate exactly what they wanted. Language, words. Thus knowledge was passed on from generation to generation thereby increasing as time passed & improving life here on Earth.
I've seen people puzzled, confused. Many have made irreversibly wrong decisions and regretted for sometime before moving on. What was frustrating was that there were some out there who would have got help had they been at the right place at the right time. And I could be one of those to help them.
I joined Yahoo Answers! to get an answer to a question which was to decide the fate of my life and I got an answer.
Later, I saw a lot of people whom I could help. And with the power of language, words and the internet, I have helped people who could have never found me, whom I couldn't have found.

The joy it gives to know that you made someones day...someone who was really in need for an answer to his query, who was stuck between logic and emotion, stuck on a dead end...that joy, that satisfaction is something which I cant explain with words. You just know what beauty is...cant define it.
Its the wide smile that matters...the smile that the asker gets on getting the best answer and the smile the answerer gets when he sees his baby selected as the best answer. Its that happiness.That's the reason, that's the impact, the influence! To know that you helped.

Thinking,reasoning and writing are the hardest mental exercises which normally every one tries to avoid. But by participating in YA we willingly learn to read,to think and concentrate while writing and framing meaningful questions in YA.So participation in YA is a way of developing ones own intellectual capabilities.

It is nothing short of a "Miracle" to know that there are so many people interested to know about fundamentals of life! Questions that would embarrass people around, (especially when they don't know the answers for very basic questions!), can be asked freely on this forum!
The amazing 'shape' that some of the questions take, under philosophy, psychology, and such abstract topics, simply demonstrates the deep interest that the youth retains today, despite the fast pace of life that imposes too much of constraints on nurturing such thought process in a person.
No words of praise are adequate to Yahoo Team, who, I am very sure, would not have dreamt that their brain-child, the Answers, would churn out such brilliant askers, and perhaps, a few matching answerers!

First of all I love to help someone, because I too know what it's like when you need an answer, but don't know who to turn to for the answer.It's great for one of those awkward questions that you can ask someone, and they won't judge you for asking it. You don't have to ask someone face to face, it's all confidential. Sometimes I ask a question just because I want to see someone else tell me I'm right about a fight i had with my friend. Sometimes it helps release stress, or even make me happier when I'm down.

It's some much easier to find an answer to random questions. Google doesn't always have the answer to our random and bizarre questions. It is great when you need an opinion on something, or a recommendation.

Y! Q&A hasn't impacted my life too much but I simply use it for two reasons:-
1. To give logical/helpful (ok sometimes funny and humorous) answer to some user to his/her problems if it helps them and I would be glad to hear from some one that my answer helped. In fact some askers contacted me personally, and
2. To propagate my ideas to other people that what do I think on various issues and subjects.
But now I'm using it less often because earlier Wikipedia (Hindi edition) and now this Q&A is wasting my lot of time becauseI can easily spend about 8-10 hours on this forum. So now I've decided to use it only when I urgently need answer to some of my problem.

I like to give advice and in the past I've gotten myself into trouble not knowing when to just zip it up. Sometimes people just don't want anyone's advice and other times it's just not my place to give it. I only ever just want to help, but I guess not everyone sees it that way. Yahoo Answers is a great way for me and others like me to give back something to the world by passing our experiences on to others before they waste unnecessary tears, time, and money . Honestly, it's nice to know some people can still appreciate good advice. I just wish i would've had it when i was much younger. Information is useless without knowing how to implement it into your life.

I found the site very interesting. Sharing my knowledge gives me inner joy. As it is said in sanskrit shlok that sharing the wealth of knowledge would increase the wealth of knowledge. And it is perfect to know more from other answers. I ask questions and I am always sure that some one in the world will help me. Upon deciding to participate in Y!/A, I thought, I could possibly have an impact on the lives of people.

Turns out... Others have Greatly Impacted MY Life.

I find it Amazing, that although Oceans may Divide So Many of Us, That Y!/A [or quite possibly the internet], allows us the opportunity's to find common bonds that ultimately... Unite Us!!

I have Bonded and Formed Wonderful, Loving Friendships with many of MY Contacts. The closest, being MY Dear Friend from Egypt.
{ I won't mention him by so's not to embarrass him, but he knows who he is }

...I used to write diary,and mostly thoughts were written in it. Gradually the habit decreased. With Yahoo! Answers, I've found a place where I can share my views on a number of topics. It's not only a place to find answers, it's also developing as a repository on one's response to a specific query. It has limitations though, sometimes you don't find the desired answers, and the response is limited to the number of persons that pay attention to your question. But nevertheless, it gives out something...and that's where it's successful.

yahoo answers is an awesome web site, and i reraly love to be on this.
This have gave me a lot of knowledge, great discussions, and many a time deep deep depth of the topics.

It helped me find peoples with same thinkings as i do, so many of my questions i found them already in here, so it was easy to get those answers.

This is a great time pass, full of knowledge, and intraction b\w peoples worldwide.

i wouldn't say ive been impacted by it in such a way, my life has meaning per say,lol....but it has giving me a voice.

its interesting to see people on a regular basis in the same circle,because they too, must want to have a voice.

im sadden that you may find someone,in which, you like to give a voice to as often as you can,but then find...they have contacts that are threaten by you,and voice that in their open replies! because of this i find the impact is disappointing....i guess you have to be more aware of the askers followers as well as the asker,at this point!

i will look forward to more voiced opinions from myself and great questions from the world!

Everyday life brought forward various situations one person cannot overcome by oneself, so we need help to solve those problems. It really is a blessing we can ask for help in Yahoo Answers. There's always someone who could deliver those we need.

I've been introduced to it for a month only but look what impact it had on me...

It is said that it is good to ask a question than to remain silent but sometimes we feel shy to ask a question from the people around us for many reasons . Yahoo answers is a kind of platform where we can ask any question without the fear of getting laughed at and sometimes we do not even have people around us competent enough to answer our queries.It is a platform where we find solution to our queries by a large number of people , some happens to be experts in a particular field and some have very good practical experience in the same field and we get an answer like seeing both sides of a coin. This is what my experience have been from Yahoo answers and it gives me confidence that i have a very very good option available with me which can provide me with very good solutions to my queries and problems by enhancing my reach to many many experienced , informative , learner ed and above all ready-to-help people . This naturally enables me to make good decisions . It has also taught me to be helpful to so many people out there by sharing and spreading what i have learnt.

Y!A has had a bigger impact on my life than I ever expected it to have. I've learned how to do a few things. Gotten some great advice/tips from people on all sorts of things. I've discovered more than a few good recipes on this site.

I've met a lot of nice people and a few rude ones as well. I've had lots of laughs from reading the great jokes my favourite Contact has posted.

I've also helped a few people myself, including one woman, in a country far from the one I live in. She was in a very dark period in her life. She swears that my advice saved her life and changed it for the better. We still keep in touch on a regular basis.
