Questions on PS3 slim?

Question

PS3 costs Rs. 20000 in India right now. Does anyone know when the PS3 slim will launch in india.

I need to know.

a) When will it launch ?
b) How much is it expected to cost ?
c) Apart from the size diff are there any advancements?
d) Will the cost of the current PS3 go down?

I'm planning on buying a PS3 pretty soon but I'm thinking of waiting for the PS3 slim to launch first

Well i am an owner of one of these in America so I can tell you that there is actually a bit of a downgrade from the fat ps3 but not in a terrible way. There's five subtle differences

1. 2 USB ports on the slim, 4 on the fat
2. Linux support for the fat, none for the slim
3. Power and eject buttons are touch for the fat, regular buttons for the slim
4. No media card reader on the slim
5. Matte type black finish (just like ps2) for the slim, Piano black glossy finish for the fat. (very prone to fingerprints)

other than that I can tell you the slim is less power hungry and more efficient than the fat boy.
