I think it is a great shame that people seem to have forsaken a simple, hard, but self-rewarding lifestyle, to be "something in the city". I had an aunt and uncle who lived in Somerset. My uncle pressed and made his own cider (Pure rocket fuel!) Myy aunt made her own cheese and butter, they bartered for eggs, and kept pigs. And two happier people you could not have met. They had paraffin lamps and a log-fired kitchen range. They went to bed early, rose early, and worked damned hard. They didn't even have gas, let alone electricity.

I cannot help but wonder, whether in our money and celebrity oriented society, that many of us might be a great deal happier if we could return to a simpler life. Just a thought..

they do their jobs manually mechanically instead using electric.
