Best software to use for graphics and animation?

Question

what i exactly want to do is scan pictures i have drawn and use a software to add colour and shading

my freind suggested photo shop but are tere any others that could be used for my specific purpose?

The best software for the sort of work you want to do is any 'vector' based programs.

In my opinion, Adobe Illustrator offers the best learning curve.

I like Xara -- affordable and more like art-table drawing.

For animation, I like AnimeStudio Pro, which has tools to make audio files warp your drawing to help create the animation.

you can use adobe flash for animation. for advanced animation use MAYA or 3D Max......for minor designs use gimp for major works use Photoshop CS4
