I want to know if there is any way out to protect a folder with password like it can be done with a file in a computer

Yes, you can use the external password software to apply the password to you specific folder.just download it and run.

Sure there are such programs that let you do that (google folder password protect if you still pick this option), but i'd suggest using Truecrypt instead. Much more safe.
