Is pension & arrears tax free for husband?

hello to all
please help me in this matter.

if mrs X is government servant and she is expired. her husband mr Y also government servant .

if mr Y receive some amount of pension or arrears .
then it amount is taxable for mr.Y or what ?

if it amount is non taxable for mr Y then which u/s can i claim for it?

please advice me full detail in this matter .

Pension is taxable under the head 'Salaries'.
