• Opposite of Tindalos Hounds?

The Lovecraftian monsters known as the Hounds of Tindalos are foul, vicious beasts from beyond time, who can enter our world through angles. Their antithesis is curves, which prevent them from passing through. My question is, is there a word in the Mythos that pertains to curves the way “Tindalos” pertains to angles?? Thanks!

  • Japanese words relating to fire?

  • Is there a way to improve my Dell XPS's processing power so I can play Overwatch?

My only problem with it is that it lags, really, really badly, when I try to play Overwatch (I'm in a club for it). I know it's not a gaming laptop, but is there some kind of RAM stick or something I could use to run the game properly? I feel really bad for being dissatisfied, since the laptop was a gift and is wonderful in every other regard. It lags when using Photoshop to draw, the way my 2008-ish PC would lag, but that's barely an issue. I hate being ungrateful, but I can't participate in the club without my own Overwatch-running setup. If there's no solution, I will gladly wait until I'm out of college and have my own job to purchase a new desktop PC that will actually run games as intended. I just want to make sure that there's not an easier way. Thanks!

  • Baron/Baryn as a girl s name? (Or any other suggestions?)?

Okay, so: Overwatch OC. Young girl equipped with superspeed boots and shock gloves. Melee-only, but since she has very low health she can also blend in and become invisible as long as she stands perfectly still. Working name is "Baron" since, like the Red Baron, she hides out of sight before suddenly attacking and speeding off. But Baron... show more

  • Synonyms for "fellowship" as in "Fellowship of the Ring"?

A small band of rebels have taken it upon themselves to find and free the old leader of their land, to reunite her with the current leader so the two can learn to rule side by side once again. What's a good name for their group besides "fellowship"? Also have considered "marauders". Mostly just need this for the title.

  • In a story context, is 23-female and 38-male too much of an age gap for a romance plot thread?

There s no effective way to change either character s age, so the only option is whether or not to keep that element of their relationship. In most circumstances this age disparity wouldn t be an issue for me, since I will hopefully display their chemistry and mutual respect very well. Would it be too off-putting, even though they only start being attracted to each other at 23 and 38?

  • Recovery from terminal velocity?

Basic rule: the longer/farther someone is falling, the less likely he is to survive impact with the ground. However, at sufficient height you also have to consider terminal velocity. • Khanacademy drives me crazy and I don t know what to do...?

Idk if this is just me, but Khanacademy is the most humiliating tool I ve ever had to use for math. Every time I get one wrong the program feels so condescending. "Great that you stuck with it!" I m already mad at myself for not getting it the first time. Advice?...

  • Generic names for a small town in the Pacific Northwest of the US?

For a story - a small sort of stand-alone town, not too saccharine but not too sinister. I personally live near a city, and just have no experience with what sort of names small towns have. Preferably not one that already exists :)

Received a notification from my school that, following FEMA's advice, we will now announce our fire and lockdown drills two days ahead of time and on the day of the drill. • Hello, writers! Which character of your own creation are you most fond of? Which are you most proud of?

Not fond of or proud of as a person, but as a character. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about :) I'm curious!

  • What to do with a newly-omniscient character before the story's climax?

Twist unintentional-villain has just gained reality-bending powers and is playing with the main characters. Think Wheatley from Portal 2, only not malicious or vengeful at all. She creates games for them, but they're all extremely flawed and the main characters find loopholes to defeat them. But that's all the detail I've got. Any advice... show more

  • How could a teenage/young adult character make a lot of money and surprise her parents very suddenly?

She s one of those types who don t care much about school, but who are capable of succeeding still. What is a way that she could prove to her parents that she ll stand a chance even if she doesn t become a doctor/lawyer? I already thought of publishing a novel, but novel-inside-a-novel seems kind of cliche?
