I have a Dynaco pre-amp and amp, and a high-end Kenword tuner. These are listed on eBay for hundreds of dollars. But listing and selling are two different things. Does that old equipment really sell for anywhere near the listing prices? Anyone have any experience or advice about selling items like this?
Until recently, these were the main parts of my stereo set-up, playing through AR-3a's. I replaced them with a decent receiver simply because the 3 units were taking up too much space, and the receiver became available. They all work fine, despite their age. (No work has been done to them, or as far as I can tell, is needed).Other - Electronics2 days ago
I'm using Chrome on a Samsung A50. I have links to major news websites on my home screen. I prefer using a browser with tabs to read news, rather than the outlets' apps. I go to apnews.com, then add the URL icon to my home screen. But when I open that link, it opens the AP app, instead of browser page.
How do I get around this? I want to read AP news on the browser, so I can share links, open several stories at a time, etc.,. but it's not letting me.Other - Internet4 days ago
Pick 4 points in the given squares; what's probability they are the vertices of a convex quadrilateral?
The squares are the unit squares in quadrants 1, 2, 3, and 4 that meet at the origin. (The x- and y-coordinates of the vertices are all 0 or 1.) Call the points A, B, C and D respectively. The quadrilateral is ABCD. What the probability that ABCD is convex? I've solved this (with a little help from Wolfram Alpha). I thought others here might find it interesting too.2 AnswersMathematics2 weeks ago
I'm familiar with Andromeda and how faint it is. You can only see a little smudge with the naked eye, and often need averted vision to get that. But with a strong pair of night vision glasses of some sort, would it be possible to see anything remotely like what's shown in this picture, which is a comparison of Andromeda's size relative to the moon.5 AnswersAstronomy & Space3 weeks ago

I know they do in the RX350L. What about the RX350? I took a test drive today. Loved the car until I checked out the rear seating area, which I could barely get into. Yeah, I'm 6'4", but I could barely get in. Can't see going even a short distance with 5 people. For that much money, I expected more space. So what gives? Reviews say it's roomy even for tall people. I'm wondering if the seats just weren't back all the way.2 AnswersLexus3 months ago
It's an old model, and hasn't been turned on for years. So the battery is Dead. And it won't recharge. I've tried several different cords, to no avail. It's always been finicky--hard to get it to accept a charge with anything other than the original charger.
I'm trying to find a way revive it, but nothing works. The "take out battery, release static charge, etc." hack is no good since it's totally sealed with no (easy) way to access the battery.
I pressed what I think is the "emergency reset" hidden button, but with the unit fully discharged and dead, that had no effect, of course.
It's probably not worth paying a repair shop to fix (probably needs a new port and possibly new battery). But I'd like to at least bring it back to life.
Any help would be appreciated.3 AnswersLaptops & Notebooks4 months ago
My online broker explains stop orders like this:
Stop orders are generally used to protect a profit or to prevent further loss if the price of a security moves against you. Stop orders are triggered by a transaction or print in the security. A stop loss order will become a market order when a transaction or print occurs at the stop price you've selected. A stop limit order will become a limit order when a transaction or print occurs at the stop price you've selected.
I understand that the stop loss order becomes a market order when transactions hit that price, but what is a "print"?2 AnswersOther - Business & Finance8 months ago
Prove for a and b Natural Numbers: If (a^2+b^2)/(1+ab) = c is a Natural Number, then c is a perfect square.?
I think this was an IMO question.Mathematics8 months ago
I just watched an episode of Chicago Fire where a dry cleaners was on fire. Lots of smoke, and tall flames coming off the roof. Interior seen through glass doors and windows full of smoke. It was a real establishment, easy to verify since they didn't change the name or signs, and it's right there on Google Maps and Street View. And it's still in business!
I thought the building might have been scheduled for demolition, and sold to the producers for use in the series. But no, it's still there and open.
So how do they make it look like the building is up in flames?6 AnswersTrivia10 months ago
I'm pulling filename out of a database, and pasting them into Excel. Some of them have paths mapped to a drive. Those all work.
Others are UNC-style names, starting with something like \\util3\...
For those, everything works fine for me. I have MS Office Professional Plus 2013 installed.
Another user has Office 365, and for him, the entry in the cell is missing the \\ at the beginning of the path. So the filename isn't functioning like it should.
BTW, we're not creating hyperlinks. The filename is inserting into a text box on a form, and should open when it's double-clicked.
We've both researched this but aren't finding a solution. Is it a glitch in Office 365? A setting? How do we get around this? It's a simple little thing, but we've spend several hours trying to resolve it.Software11 months ago
I'm replacing my very old Dynaco PAT-4/Stereo 120 amp that I use for my 4 ohm AR-3A speakers. I have a Sherwood RX-4109 receiver I want to use. The manual says to use at least 8 ohm speakers. It's rated at 100W/channel. I use them in a small space, so I'm not going to play them very loud.
Can I get away with this, or will the impedance mismatch possibly harm the receiver, or give me unsatisfactory performance?5 AnswersOther - Electronics1 year ago
"California passed SB 206, also known as the Fair Pay to Play Act, into law Monday. The law allows college athletes to profit from their name, image and likeness."
So what does this really do? The NCAA still prohibits it, right? And it wasn't illegal as far as California is concerned, was it?
So it seems it legalizes something that was legal to begin with, and doesn't prohibit the NCAA from upholding their rules.

What is the basis for W.H. saying Hope Hicks has "absolute immunity" from having to answer questions?
They describe this as "constitutional," but I don't see anything in the Constitution, or in court precedents, saying W.H. staffers can't be compelled to answer. Is this just more wishful thinking from His Royal Highness Donald I?6 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 year ago
