Not at all true. Complete BS. So don't worry about that one.

If this were true, then Microsoft would be hearing from hard drive and SSD manufacturers up in arms, because they won't be able to sell secondary drives to customers for the fear that everything on them would be erased during the next upgrade.

" also the worrying story of their being 'forced' updates that you have no choice but to accept and that the updates can make you lose personal files, programs and precious data......and also that if you create a windows notepad file in windows 10, even if you save added text and save your session every time, that a process in windows 10 can cause it to erase information and text you've added to the notepad file, even if you'd saved it before you closed the notepad file? "

Having forced updates is true, but not about losing personal files and data. Don't worry about your personal data, Microsoft never deletes those things, unless you're reinstalling Windows from scratch as a full install.

As for Notepad, nothing like that happens.

  • 32-bit vs 64 bit OS. Why is x86 in latest win versions? Should I still use x86 if I like to play classic games .?

Old games can lag wildly with 64 bit OS in my eperience. Some bugs like character/unit moving with his back forward occured in several games that would work perfect on win x86

It says i have to restart my computer to finish installing updates, but when I click restart it doesn't install them. I checked which ones failed and downloaded them individually from the microsoft catalog, but it still says I have to restart and I can't tell what updates it still needs to install.
