I'm currently 22 years old and I'm debating on whether or not I should go back to college. I completed one year at a University right after HS and decided to take time off because I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to pursue at that time. I knew I didn't want to waste money either. My biggest concern of going back to school is acquiring more debt. I've already had the reality check considering I've been out of school for a few years and have been paying back on my students loans. The reason I'm confused about going back to school is because I'm in a really good paying job with benefits where I'm making almost $19 an hr WITHOUT a degree. I also work with people who have their bachelor degrees doing the same job as me! I just know that acquiring debt is not what I want to do. Should I stay content where I'm at, and just work my way up or should I consider entering a community college?

I turned 21 not too long ago and I am halfway through aviation maintenance program but I never really liked doing maintenance work at all. I signed up for it a year ago after just taking few regular college classes my first year after of high school. I registered for mechanic program because I thought I had to do it since I attended skills center maintenace class my senior year of high school. My financial aid provider and people around me assumed I should do mechanic field after high school, so I actually registered for aviation mechanic program year later. My financial aid provider helping cover my tuition, but I really found out I never wanted to be a mechanic at all. I am at a point where I do not want to do something for my career to please other people, I want to do what I want. Have not told my Financial aid provider yet but I signed up for just regular college classes but have little bit of time to pay it. I want to do something what I want and not what others want. I would like to get bachelors and actually go to main college campus enjoying meeting more people and joining more social activities. So I was wondering if it is alright to switch career paths at age 21 or if it is a dumb idea and if I am old to pursue a bachelor's and enjoy college social life?

Four courses over an eight-week summer semester is an overloaded schedule. The semester is half the length, but the same material has to be learned as in a regular (15-week) semester, so it's like taking double the classes. That is, four classes over an eight-week semester is like taking eight classes during a fall or spring semester.

I can't criticize you on not being able to handle this; few students could, and I know I couldn't. But it's not your professor's job to reduce the workload because you enrolled in too many classes.

I’ve been under alot of pressure lately since i am in high school going into senior year. At this point, i have 2 sides, the one that doesn’t care anymore since its senior year or the one that is extremely nervous about the college appplication. But thats not the problem... My problem is that i have low test scores... SAT is 1,000 and ACT is 19. To be honest i dont want to go through test taking again. I find that math is my highest but when combined with English its gameover for me. Alot of older peers such as my sisters friends who are in college, tells me that i shouldnt worry about the applications because i will most likely get into college. But yet... the advice doesnt help my case. Im a regular kid who took regular classes in highschool with a 3.2 GPA and wants to major in Information Technology or Computer Engineering. Can somebody give me some advice? And taking another test will not help because the closet ACT SAT will not be till late fall and most applications on the colleges i want to go will be due by the time i take the test.

I currently work at a fast food restaurant that makes me stressed. I have no friends there and it affects my school. I only work 2-3 days a week but the days that I work it affects my school because my shifts start right after school and end at around 10pm so I barely have time to do my homework since I need to wake up at 6am for school. I am also involved in a lot of school activities which involve me having to go to almost all school games and after school time. My boss is not the nicest so she wouldn’t try and accommodate my schedule even if I asked. The only reason that I do not want to quit is so that I do not disappoint my parents I only got the job to make my parents prouder of me. I struggle to get a 4.0GPA which is what I usually get every semester and now that I am on my senior year I want to enjoy it and all the senior activities that are involved I am worried that work is going to make my last highschool memory suck. Please help

  • Why dont the rich kids at my school don't go to a private school?

Best answer: Private schools are options that should be available to all who believe the school they are attending is inadequate for their needs.
They pay for their public schools.. They should not be prevented from attending them if that is what they prefer.
Or are you just jealous because of their cars?
