Recently, I let a friend drive my vehicle. I am covered through Progressive Car Insurance, and only had Liability Coverage on my vehicle. When I let him drive my vehicle, he got into an accident where he was at fault, and hit a pole. Upon striking the pole, both airbags in my vehicle deployed and the car was declared totaled. His insurance is through Nationwide. While still in this battle between insurance companies, and them debating on which one of them is going to pay for the public property damage, I am stuck with no means of transportation and find myself wondering. Since I wasn’t behind the wheel, obviously not at fault, would his insurance possibly pay for me to get a replacement vehicle?

Should we pay for our own or do insurance, they don’t care either way and will attest to them being at fault as it’s not ther insurance and my car as stoped before the collision. This incident occurred in Troutdale Oregon.

  • Can I drive a car 12,000 miles without an oil change?

Best answer: It depends on the "health" of your car, the conditions in which you drive, and the type of oil you used for the last oil change.
Personally, I think getting oil changed regularly is a lot cheaper than a repair that is needed because you tried to cheap out on the oil changes.

  • What happens if the person's car I hit does not file a claim?

Best answer: Probably, because as soon as they do that, the insurance company will contact you. If it's only been a few weeks, that doesn't mean anything. The other person could be busy, or procrastinating. It's also a possibility that the other person has decided to not have it fixed, or fix it themselves, or maybe they know someone who works on cars. If it's been more than a month, there's a good chance nothing will happen, especially for something minor. I was in an accident that was my fault at the end of June, I sideswiped a car and put some small scratches on it. I never heard from him.

I'm not sure if this could be caused by a faulty alternator or some other problem with its charging system I already suspect it's a dead battery because this battery was fitted to this vehicle back in 2004 and that it was last used back in 2016. I assume it maybe some sort of chemical reaction within the battery dince the car didn't charge it for nearly 2 years.

Best answer: Absolutely and is a win/win for a title company.

This is worst than one of those pay here/buy here dealers that overcharge you for interest and the value of the vehicle that you bought since when you buy here, NO one will loan you money and many cases these people default on those loans, thus even though they re-posess, they are out the loan plus now have a car that they have to sell at auction and get less and then go after the buyer to recoup which they may or not ever get.

But with a title loan means you own the car, so it is great. Once again most likely have bad credit or need money quick, so no problem you sign over the title to the title company, which now OWNS the car. So late on payments, no problem, they can re-possess the car and SELL it, since there is no lender or lien. They love it since they make money and most people who take out title loans will have their vehicle re-possessed due to the high interest rate and recurring charges that many never get caught up.

It's a win/win for title companies, since no lenders and own the vehicle and take it once you default and is expected.
