  • Can you eat too much whole wheat?

My husband loves whole wheat products. He eats very simply, and has recently found a recipe for whole wheat scones, mostly just whole wheat flour and water. (I think they're bland but he loves them.) They have a ton of fiber and protein, but he is eating an awful lot of them - is it ok to consume that much... show more

Many black people believe they are deserving od reparations for historical wrongs. Vegans too should be given reparations for our PTSD caused by people eating meat.

  • Meat will kill you. Why not convert to veganism?

Seriously, red meat is terrible for your health. Chickens are packed full of antibiotics. Also it's disgusting the way you people abuse animals. Why not convert to veganism? We're a friendly community. Love Alice

Best answer: I grew up watching my grandmother cook and was always into reading cook books, but never bothered with actual cooking until I lived with my husband. Through experience and a lot of trial and error, we just kind of know how to wing it now and can make pretty decent and tasty food on the fly without a book.

I'm more of a baker, to be honest, and rarely follow cook books to the letter (that was my grandma, the perfect example of pull a recipe from where the sun don't shine and add this, add that until POOF! magic, LOL), but I do read them quite a lot, like the same recipe over and over again until I get the basics down for it and just go from there. It helps me decide whether or not I'm comfortable tackling the recipe or not, SO READ EVERYTHING at least 3 times over.

    So,

-Read your recipes over and over again to ensure that your'e comfortable and have

-TIME to complete them when you want them. I can't tell you how many times I said "I'm going to make this!" start it at 5pm, only to discover that the cook time is 4 hours!

Cooking is planning. You have to be organized and plan ahead to have good results. Many things I've done have taken all day or even overnight (again, more about baking). Food planning and meal planning helps a ton, too. You can learn tips and tricks from many websites and magazines, like what veggies you can freeze, seasonal fruits and veg, how to combat food waste, etc.

There is NO SUCH THING as a lazy chef: it's passion, planning, organization, and just having fun with it :)

There are many Christians who take the Bible quite literally that do understand that the earth is billions of years old and the existence of dinosaurs is not an issue either scientifically or theologically.

So, while your mom may be ill advised on her age of the earth position, I'm wandering how seriously you are taking your own relationship with God.
