I want to go on a trip, use a tour guide or just go alone?
I am 20, and recently got out of a long term relationship. I am scared of letting time slip away from me, so I have decided after covid, I am going to go on a trip to Europe. I have looked into contiki, and I like that they plan everything out for me, but I feel like its to fast paced, and would almost be the same price to go myself, and be able to do what I want. I want to be social though and go partying, but I think I can meet people in hostels?? what would you recommend? 2 days in each country seems way to crammed, but they plan it out for you?? Never travelled or planned a trip alone so I am kind of lost, I would rather wait until I found someone to go with, but I can't sit around and wait for someone right?

How old were you when you went on vacations without parents?
I’m always worried about travel. It stressed me out to plan, and even think about. I had a whole plan of trips me and my ex were going to do, until we broke up. I worry I will regret not travelling and miss out (even though I’m only 20). Is it a big deal to not travel and just save money for a year or so? Or until I get back in a good head space. How old were you when you first started going on vacations without your family?

Why do Greek people keep staring at me?
Me and my family ( my father who is black, my mom who is white, my sister, my younger brother and me who are all tan,)
We CONSTANTLY are being stared at in Crete, Greece. It’s hard to tell if it is because we are not liked or because we look different. Is it a race issue, or just cultural? Sometimes it seems aggressive and we are not sure how to respond. Should we look away? Should be acknowledge we are being stared at. I’m confused.

Why do Chinese tourists have a bad reputation? ?
Favourite answer:What I've observed is that the acceptable social norm for public behavior in crowded areas of China is clearly very different than what it is where I live or visit. I see it in New York, Boston, London, Paris.
I see purposeful blocking of sidewalks so they can hear a tour guide or take a photograph or have a group conference, so people have to walk in the street--where there's heavy traffic--to get past.
I see an arrogant "ownership" of sidewalks by the men--not unique to Chinese men--in regard to women, children, and younger men, where they demand you get out of their way and they absolutely will not get out of yours.
I hear voices far louder than necessary to be heard by those they're with.
I must note that this is most certainly not all Chinese tourists, but the ones who behave like this make a more lasting impression than the others who do not.
