Warrior officially retired from wrestling in 1999. He found a new career as a conservative speaker and commentator, denouncing left-wing politics. Most notably, he mentioned that "queering doesn't make the world work" (44:20-46:50 of the video) during a speech at the University of Connecticut. Warrior has explained those comments on his website as meaning that the human race would die out if everyone were a homosexual. A more in depth look at his views on homosexuality can be seen at an archived version of his website, on which he writes:

“Homosexual” and “gay” are nothing more than soft-porn p/c euphemisms created to vulgarly detour people from the truth. “But, Warrior, queer is offensive.” Offensive to who I would say? Queers? Give me a break. Even queers know queer is queer. Ask one, they will tell you: “A queer is going to be a queer (and be proud of it). Must be. Has to be. It’s out of our control.” Why, then, can’t queers be called what they themselves know they are? And what about how I am offended?

In the beginning queer was used for an exact, good reason. Because it should be: queer means “deviation from what is normal and expected; strange, odd.” And, surprise! queers deviate!! Oh, yes, they do. The little darlings do, do, do! For starters (like its not enough), they deviate from what is expected of their nature as human beings. That they do is strange, is odd. It was when the first “closet doors” slithered open, and just so happens to still be. Homosexual and gay are nothing but prophylactics covering up the deviancy of being queer. Homosexual(ity) is used to create an impression that it is a credible, since-the-beginning-of-time traditional mainstream majority on par with heterosexual(ity), instead of being seen the unscrupulous minuscule 1-2% minority of the population that it truly is. Gay connotes innocent fun and frolic and party favors instead of the dissolute pornographic filth and dinginess from which the “bug-chasing” majority of the minority spawned.

The Warrior also sells memorabilia, including action figures, on eBay, under the screen name "conservativemind."

(Comment by another eBay member, in the "Ask seller a question" Section)

Q: "Warrior, You sir are HILARIOUS!! You are my hero. If I ever become famous I wanna go off my rocker just like you. Dave"

    (Warrior's Response)

A: "What you mean is that you know will never become famous, but in your dreams when you fantasize that you might one day, you would want to have the confidence and belief in the staying power and value of your product like I do MINE. The difference between the truth you are ashamed to tell and the ridicule you find humor and comfort in, can be analogized like this: You run a pawn shop and I sell valuable collectibles. You have to sell 15-16 figures to make just at $300. I have to sell one. Our ads cost about the same, around $3-5. On top of that, your 15 figures, even given away for free, can never match the value of buying the SET for $300 from me with COA's and autographed 8x10's. If you think so, then you win the prize for hilarity, not I. Who's off their rocker? And who's the hypocrite? You bash me for capitalizing off the value I worked hard and sacrificed to build, and yet, you run out and buy my Intellectual Property, which I own the legal right to license, and, then, you turn around and resale it for a profit, yourself! For you, and others like you, I consider my highly-valued auctions charitable contributions to the study and practice of psychology. All you begrudging flops get to write and belittle my auctions and, therefore, have your self-esteems fed vilely the same. It makes you all feel bigger and more socially-conscious about yourselves: Is he nuts? $300 for action figures! Why, I wouldn't pay... Excuse me, Davey Boy, yes you would. That is, if you had it, you would. You want these figures, Davey Boy, but you can't afford the $300. You’re welcome for, both, the business lesson and my charity. And I must, in return, thank you for the laughs and the fun break of two minutes I spent scrawling this out for further public amusement. Have a great non-motivational, indebted life. W" (December 28, 2006)

No he is not dead, and there was not multiple Warrior's either:

According to a 2000 research study by Turner Networks, Warrior and Bill Goldberg were among the top five most internationally recognized wrestlers in the world, behind Hollywood Hogan and Kevin Nash. In April 2006, WWE.com had a poll for the most deserving person for the WWE Hall of Fame. Warrior received the most votes, but it is unlikely that Warrior would agree to join.

Warrior has always been portrayed by the man formerly known as Jim Hellwig. The rumors of his death occurred following a hiatus before Wrestlemania VIII when he returned to help Hulk Hogan while he was being double-teamed by Sid Justice and Papa Shango. When returned Warrior had a different (shorter) hairstyle, his tan looked different, and his physique was less intense. This led to speculation that the actual Warrior had died. This urban legend was further perpetuated when WCW created the Renegade character who was played by a man who looked very similar to Jim Hellwig. In the late 1990's Jim Hellwig legally changed his name to Warrior Warrior. Currently, he does speaking engagements and is in litigation against WWE over their DVD release "The Self-Destruction of the Ulimtate Warrior."

Im so happy a spoiled kid doesnt get what he wants. Apparently, He was happy about it. Hes wearing a fake smile, inside, hes crying, and this time, his parents cant help him. OWNED. I think it might be his Senior Year in High School too, or College....idk but I love it. WQ: I like it, its kinda cool. But hes too old, he wont be able to wrestle much. But it will still be kinda cool, because Cena cant wrestle either, so its not like anything different will happen.

He's brain dead, as in crazy (the guy is eccentric and strange). He legally changed his name to just "Warrior" (no last name).
