How wonderful is it to hear Ron Paul speak the truth?

I know that it certainly won't help him get elected since most Americans not only can't handle the truth they don't even want to hear it (if it's something bad) & since all political candidates know that US voters don't really like the truth, they do their best to accommodate the voters by lying about everything.

But it is really fun to watch Dr. Paul get so many people upset because they've actually heard the truth for the first time in their lives about US Govt & the disaster that it has become & they just can't accept that they've been lied to for so long by the very people they voted for.

Representative Dr. Ron Paul has been refreshing for more that 25 years and he speaks Constitutional truth.

Clearly some here don't believe this and I suggest that it is because they don't understand the issues. By way of demonstrating this I'll refer to a comment by pantagruel which shows he (as with others) not only doesn't listen to what Dr. Paul is saying but doesn't understand the Constitutional position.

Providing citizenship to those born of people not having United States citizenship comes from the 14th Amendment. It was directed at those who were under federal jurisdiction such as former slaves and American Indians under reservation status. This provided a path for such individuals to obtain full citizen status with all rights. It was not for those who broke out laws to get into this country illegally. Their children have no such right and should not be eligible for services. This has nothing to do with what their parents are doing except that they have enter the country illegally.

Legalizing drugs is an entirely different issue. First, he does not advocate the use of drugs and even is not supportive of the heavy use of prescribed drugs our doctors hand out. Nor is he against the individual States passing laws outlawing drugs, but rather is only against the federal government passing such laws. He takes that position because the federal government has no delegated Constitutional power to make any such laws.

It helps if people take the time to actually understand the issues and what people are actually saying about them.

Those who don't like his ideas do not seem to understand that these aren't his ideas but rather the ideas, concepts, and perspectives of the Founders and they placed them within th eConstitution. All Dr. Paul is doing is promoting the idea to enforce the Constitution as it is written.

The arrogance displayed by his supporters is a total turnoff for me. If I have to endure one more Paulian minion tell me Ron Paul is the only person I can vote for and everything Ron Paul says is the God-spoken honest truth I think I will puke. I'd hate to do that after such a wonderful Christmas dinner.

I never thought I'd say this but I think he makes George W. Bush look good. I watched a re-air of the Meet The Press interview today. I know that he's got a lot of supporters but I'm sorry, I think he's scary. I don't see too many homeowners voting for Ron Paul knowing that he wants to get rid of income tax where they can't deduct their mortgage. His national sales tax will destroy the poor and elderly. The poor will end up spending more in taxes a year on a national sales tax than they currently pay in income tax. Remember Hoovervilles? If he's elected there will be Paulvilles populated by the poor and the elderly with no or low incomes. Right now he's waffling about his past stands on various topics. He definitely isn't a republican but probably closer to a party from the 1770's, like a Federalist or something. He's contradictory, scary and despicable!

It really is WONDERFUL when the public can TRUST a politician to try his best to tell the truth on all matters relating to government policy.

I have been following Dr. Paul since the 1970's and slowly learned to trust him at a time when I swore to NEVER trust any politician! When he became a member of the U.S. Gold commission, and pushed his Gold legislation package through the congress, senate, & got Reagan to sign it, after some revisions, my trust grew stronger.

In hindsight if Ron Paul and Jesse Helms had previaled in their quest to put the U.S. dollar back on a Gold standard.......The world would have benifited immensely.......Believe It!!!

You see I've held Gold stocks since the early 70's & made good money on them at a time when mainstream America was completely in the dark about the benifits of owning Gold,,,,,,,,which has been providing a 21% annual return for the last 6 years.

The Honesty of Ron Paul has guided me & my family into a good life when many American families around where I live are really suffering because of inflation & excessive taxation.

If Ron Paul becomes President, the celebration will never stop at my house!

He sounded like everyone else, trying to explain why he does the things he does. I will give him the honest card though. Why else would he keep the money he receives from White Supremacist and tell the world he does.

Apparently I'm not hearing the same thing you're hearing.

All I hear is a cranky, angry, crotchety old nutjob rambling accusations and finger-pointing.

He's got a problem with everything. A complainer.

I'm not calling him a liar, Im calling him a nutjob.

so - - yea, not really that "wonderful" to me as it obviously is for you.

It is great. Unfortunately, people would prefer to keep this victim status of "nothing is my fault and I can't take care of myself."

I like what he says about welfare - that the job of welfare should be to put itself out of business. Do such a great job that there are no more poor, but it perpetuates itself through the victim mentality of "I cannot help myself." There are people with AMAZING potential that get stuck in this cycle.

Pantgue - he is saying that drugs are bad, but the fact that they are illegal only funds underground activities and drains taxpayer money. I don't want to make alcohol illegal but that doesn't mean that I think everyone should be an alcoholic.

The truth about illegal immigration is that we don't know who is coming in. We do know that because we don't check we do get a lot of drug dealers, sex offenders and criminals. Does that mean ALL illegal aliens are committing these crimes? No. But we certainly don't need more of it in the U.S. so it'd be a good idea to get a handle on the illegal immigration situation and let in those people who truly want to be Americans - honoring their heritage while respecting our culture and keeping out those who will do America harm.

He just makes a lot of sense.

We aren't upset about hearing the truth. When are we going to start hearing it from Ron Paul? His ideas are totally unworkable and dangerous.

Posters who refer to RP as a clown, ideas unworkable, etc. are the ones who are not familiar with the Constitution. If you will take a few minutes to become familiar with the document and the Bill of Rights, RP will look totally different to you.

The reason some of the ideas sound so strange is they come straight from the document by which we are to be governed
