Hi, I'm form a similar line of work, use cost centers and cost categories. They run parallel to ledger accounts, and help track expenses towards each job.

    I think you can create them as Inventory items and then keep on adding cost using stock journal to these projects.

    If you are into Build houses / residential flats you can also create sub items and do the same
