Because Manchester are nicknamed 'The Red Devils' and the team is somehow always united regardless of where they came from. And everyone have the desire to play football. So we are somehow united.

There is a red devil on the Manchester United crest because of the nickname, 'The Red Devils.' Don't worry about how it 'unites' since it has nothing to do with Manchester "UNITED"

What kind of exam would actually give you that question anyway?
