okay first I suggest you decrease your calorie intake by 500 calories. Then I suggest you do 30 minutes of cardio 6 times a week as well as weight training to build your strength.
Since your 230 lbs, I suggest you use the elliptical machine rather than running on the treadmill because it's much better for your body and puts less strain. Your less likely to injure yourself. The elliptical machine will also tone your arms, chest and legs.
For weight training, I suggest you talk to a personal trainer just so you can get a better understanding. It's vital you get a gym membership. I suggest you do exercises which involve you in building strength such as Bench Pressing, Curls, Squats.
And as far as what you eat I suggest you eat lean meats, eggs, milk. Refrain from cheese and sort because it is very heavy in saturated fats. Try to be conscious of carbohydrates and saturated fats. Drink 8 glasses of water a day and you are good to go.
