A fatty liver is certainly not a healthy liver and you will possibly experience problems in controlling weight, digestion, high cholesterol, reduced immunity amongst other things. At this stage the abnormality is reversible and I would advise that you change your diet in order to restore full function to your liver and full health to your body.
You don't need medicine or products to do this, you can do it yourself with the correct diet. A doctor, Sandra Cabot, has written many books beginning with one about the Liver Cleansing Diet, and the principles of this diet will be perfect for you. I've done it many times myself and it works.
All you need is 8 weeks to do the cleanse and you will see improvements in your results. It requires that you eliminate all red meat, animal fats, dairy, processed food and anything containing additives. You can have soy products to replace the dairy and calcium.
Instead you eat fresh fish/seafood (not fried), some lean chicken, lots of fresh vegetables (raw is better), salads and fruit, wholemeal pasta, bread and rice. Drink lots of water to flush the toxins away. The process will speed up if you can make a fresh raw vegetable juice every morning (eg carrot, celery, apple).
If you do this without cheating, your liver will clean itself and eventually return to normal, and you will also lose weight. Normally I lose 2lb per week, but you will lose as much excess as you have. I've attached some more reading below to further explain all this including tips and an example diet plan. Hope you like it. Best wishes.
