how many kilometres should a car do in its life?

what is the maximum amount of kilometres a car can do in its life. If you have a link to details(preferbly an aussie site) it would be great.

Ive heard 200,000k's and 500,000k's need to replace engine or just get a new car

    there is no exact number

it depends on the way the car was driven in , the whether,if the user did the usual checks and changed faulty spare parts .

as an example i have 2 cars ,one of them just passed 200000 kilometer, an it needs more thatn 5000$ to fix because i did care a lot about it (races, rarely changed oil ,etc),,its 2002

while the other car is 1986 and it running like a new one

How longs a piece of string? there is no answer, I've seen an AU Falcon with 790,000,(taxi.) still on the original motor.

But have found the same model in wrecking yards with less than 100,000.

Average before wrecking would be under 400,000, motor may still be running, but the body may have failed or parts may become hard to get.
