Absolutely, but fortunately for you (and all of us), he's just a fairy tale.

God extends His mercy and grace, yet not everyone takes it. We are all guilty of sin. No one is good, with the exception of God. God does not ask you to follow religion. He wants all of us to accept His gift of salvation to cover us from the punishment of our sins. This is His desire and is why He was tortured and allowed His flesh to be torn apart. God is the only One who is able to keep the standards for righteousness. We have all failed and even our greatest works cannot give us salvation. Even though some one may seem like they are perfect, we do not know their thoughts. God knows all of our thoughts and the condition of our hearts. We cannot be fake with Him. By accepting His Holy Spirit and placing our trust in Him, we are placing ourselves back to the source of life. If we are "not" connected to God (the source of life) we will be on automatic path to death/destruction. God is the only remedy. Jesus is the only way, the door, the truth, and the life. No one can get to the Father, except through Him. Jesus is the Word of God made flesh the dwelt among us, Who was with God in the beginning.

If you access to a Bible, a good place to start reading is the Book of John, then the Book of Romans.

Source(s): In the beginning was the Word (Jesus) and the Word (Jesus) was with God and the Word (Jesus) was God. And the Word (Jesus) was made Flesh and dwelt among us. He will be called Immanuel, meaning God with us.

Read Revelation. Jesus will reign, chaining up Satan for 1000 yrs. He isn't coming again to kill anyone. But to send the deniers to hell and take the believers to Heaven. Learn God's plan for our future and you won't have such a dumb question.

not Christ Himself, if you reject Christ and his Word, then when He returns He takes those up with Him, who believe in Him and revere Him in their hearts. The rest, the Lord God Himself will pour out His wrath on those who blasphemed the Name of Christ or rejected Him as Lord and Saviour.

What you foolishly call "cruelty" is truly justice.

The criminal always thinks he is being unfairly treated.

Christians have been terrorising people for centuries, it's their raison d'être.
