    log of n=b^(l)

    n=number whose log is required to be found out.

    b=base of the numbering system.(by default 10)

    l=log=power to which base is raised.

    log of 10000 = 4;10^4=10*10*10*10

    log of 1000 = 4;10^3=10*10*10

    log of 100 = 4;10^2=10*10

    now let us see what happens

    if base is changed to, say 2 then

    log of 64 (to base2) = 6;2^6=2*2*2*2*2*2

    similarly

    log of 64 (to base4)=3;4^3=4*4*4

    log of 64 (to base8)=2;8^2=8*8

    log 100=2

    log 10^2=2

    2log10=2

    we know that log 10 value is 1

    so

    2=2

    log 100 = log 10^2 = 2 log 10 = 2 (1) = 2 (considering the base as 10)

    log 100=log 10^2

    cancl both sides logs,

    100=10^2

    ans.

    10^2 = 100

    Remember when the log base isn't specified it's assumed to be 10.
