Isnt it foolish to purchase the game on steam for same price and then also to pay for 60gb downloading?

You don't pay money to download 60gb or more of space onto your hard drive when using Steam. I don't know where you have got that information from? It's incorrect.

Often Steam is cheaper than retail and if it isn't, the tangible PC game you purchase nearly always needs a Steam account to play the game unless it is an EA game or does not impose any form of DRM such as Torchlight II for example.

Most people have unlimited internet access so it doesn't costs anything to download or stream other than the monthly costs.

What game do you know that is 60 gb. Most pc games are smaller than console games and a double layer Blu-ray only holds 50 gb.
