Two high was with different numbers.?

Why, when highways intersect but never separate again, do they often keep both highway numbers posted for the duration? Since they don't part again why don't they just drop 1 of the numbers to save money on signs?

Highway Number X may get finding from this or that Place.

Highway Y gets it from other Budgets.

When they want to do something in the part called Highway XY they can dip into two pots of your taxpayer money.

Because they are ROUTE numbers not road numbers perhaps

No set rule. Some are co-signed for very long distances and others are not..

Only if that second route ends.
