why does the DVD player not play all of my dvd's. its a sharp tv with built in dvd player?
Update:
it only plays my porn, not the movies. It never did this before.

DVD players do wear out. They also deteriorate even if not used over time. If the set is over 5 years old, then this is not uncommon. eventually it will get to the point it won't play any of your DVDs. If your DVDs are home made, then the dyes used in cheap DVD recordable blanks fade with time also making them hard to read by any player.

Because combo players are made with the cheapest components available, with indifference to quality or performance.
