Is it possible to get the mailman to put your letter/package somewhere other than directly in the mailbox?

So that nosy parents won't be able to open your things? Can you write "please hide in bush" or something on the front? Anyone got a better idea maybe?

"Please hide in bush" isn't going to work. You could rent a P.O. Box at the post office and have the thing mailed to you at the P.O. Box address instead of the address you share with your parents.

Ask your postmaster whether it is possible to have mail with your name held for you to pick up at the post office, without them holding all the mail from your home address, including mail addressed to others. I don't know whether holding mail is an all or nothing business, but your postmaster can advise you.

Yup, I'm pretty sure it's been done before and is actually not an uncommon request. You'd have to call the office first though to make that request.
