Talk with your doctor about the issue. Make sure there is no underlying medical issue going on as such issues as thyroid disease and other things can mimic depression. Get an evaluation done, and make sure you are being treated for it! Seek out counseling if you feel they can help you get out there a bit. You could have a social anxiety issue as well (depression and anxiety go hand in hand). Make sure you are taking care of yourself (sleep well, exercise, eat well, etc.). Stay away from things like caffeine and alcohol as these tend to make depression and anxiety worse (especially for me...ive had both all my life). Exercise daily as this can help regulate your serotonin and norepinephrine levels naturally. Lack of sleep can really throw things off as well. Basically, talk with your doc, get evaluated, get on a treatment plan and discuss options for how to be more social. Join a club, do volunteer work, take a class.....so many different ways! Keep trying and don't give up!
