Do I need my records from my present dentist in order to continue with a new dentist ?

    yes! ofcourse! you should always have your medical history with you.

    If you have the previous records, or can get them, the new dentist might be interested in seeing them.

    But it's not absolutely necessary. Patients start with new dentists all the time without having previous information.
