Why does Iceland use Britain's time zone?
Update:
I don't see any reason why they shouldn't just use their own Mid-Atlantic one.

Because the time zone map includes a few anomalies designed to make things like commerce and transportation easier.

so they won't have to convert UTC to their time
to underline that they are part of Europe

Time zones are human artefact. Countries use the time zone most convenient for them.
