Life began perfect with the first man Adam. He lost perfection, not only for himself, but for all of his offspring when he rebelled against God. Adam's children needed another perfect man who would be the ransom needed to gain back for them what Adam lost. Jesus became that needed ransomer. Because he remained faithful to Jehovah to his death on a torture stake, he made it possible for us to become perfect as was Adam. Adam was created to live forever right here on earth. Psalms 115:16 tells us plainly: "As for the heavens, they belong to Jehovah, But the earth he has given to the sons of men." Jesus verifies these words at Matthew 5:5: "Happy are the mild-tempered, since they will inherit the earth." For how long? We are told at Psalms 37:29: "The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it." John 17:3 says: "This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ." Who is "the only true God?"
