Should international students be given 2-year visas after they finish their course?

This is what Tory PM Boris Johnson is implementing. No job offer necessary.

No. They should return to wherever they originated, unless they have tremendous utility to continuing and/or realising important aspects.

To see evidence of my very highly advanced nature, do the following:

      1) Go to the VNN Forum's United Kingdom section
      2) Search for the most recent thread started by John Trent (not my real name) and visit it
      3) See the link in the first post and visit it

What for? If they are eligible for a work visa, or maybe a fiancé visa, give them what they are eligible for. Otherwise, they might as well go back home and look for a job.

if they are of value to the UK then they should be allowed to settle here , if they are of no value then they need to go back to where they come from

If they are of value to the UK they are of even more value to their home countries and should return. It would be a far more effective way to help other countries rather than sending foreign aid for dictators to squander.

Why, that only gives them time to find a job (taken away from Americans) or find a stupid American to marry them. Let them go home, and if they want to come back let them apply, like everyone else.

NO - a condition of their course should be that they LEAVE the UK within 1 HOUR of sitting their final exam.

Only if they can support themselves and can pay for housing and healthcare. I can't see it working as people will be angry about letting more immigrants in.

Why would you not want a highly educated, skilled person to remain in the country? Give them time to find a worthwhile position and positively contribute to the country that educated them
