Is the word "us" singular or plural?

"So they expect us"...

    "us" is always plural.

    Unless you suffer from multiple personality disorder

    or you are a royal monarch.

    Since it refers to more than one, it is plural, just like we.

    Plural:

    it is first person plural (objective) it refers to more than one person

    First person singular is "I" or "me"

    I always thought it was plural, because I know what "plural" means, but once I saw your example "So they expect us" I realized that you have no idea what you're talking about.

    Plural of course...the singular would be 'me'.

    I or me = singular, we or us = plural
