I just open the pdf file in LibreOffice and it converts into a doc file.  Up top right of LibreOffice it has an insert button.  Click on it and look for image.  Click on that and it goes into your hard drive.  Look for where the image is located and click on image.  The image will appear where you last had your blinking pointer/mouse at.

Yes, you can transfer a .pdf file to a .word file, add pictures, then transfer to .pdf again.

PDF files were designed so they could not be edited.

What you have to do is convert the PDF to a Word Document make your changes then save as PDF from Word.

To convert the PDF visit this web page:

You would need a full version of adobe acrobat. With that, you could edit a pdf like a word document and that would include adding pictures.

If you can write to the file you can cut and paste and image into the file.
