Why is our Democratic candidate's the debate be held by a private corporation? why CNN and not the American People?

The American people aren't in organization. The general election debates are organized by a bipartisan Coalition which sets the terms for them. The primary debates are organized by the political party in question. All of the debates, with their primary or general election, are hosted, and aired, by a TV News Network, or a group of news networks. This is done for the Practical reason that the news networks have experience putting on spectacles such as this, they have nominally impartial reporters who can ask questions and act as moderators, and, most crucially, they have the facilities to broadcast this debate to the nation. The idea of the American people hosting the debate would require the American people to somehow come together, form some sort of organization, come up with debate rules, vet and higher in partial moderators, secure event space, and finally, and most crucially, create some sort of broadcast facility with which to send this debate out to the American people

That's the only way it gets on TV.

Do the American people own any TV networks?
The independent League of Women Voters use to sponsor and put on political debates but stopped several years ago because the political parties wanted to control everything, from the locations to the questions asked, everything and the League of Women Voters declined to allow that. But that is exactly what is going on with the debates we saw in 2016 with Republicans and now with the Democrats.

For the same reason that the World Series is televised on the network that pays MLB the most to broadcast it, capitalism.

What place is "American People"? Broadcast stations sponsor the costs of location and public broadcast. Questions may be created by them, or from public input. I'm annoyed with President Big Cheese 70 political rallies at costs to taxpayers and his $109 million in golf costs.
