How did Disney know about the Harry Potter castle before Harry Potter came out in the 80s or whatever?

So like when Disney movies start they have that castle and it looks JUST LIKE the Harry Potter castle. How did Disney know about the Harry Potter castle before Harry Potter came out?

Serious answers only.

Thanks! 👍

Clearly JK Rowling stole it from Disney.

They didn't. That castle is based on castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria.

The Disney logo features Cinderella's castle, which is central to their theme parks in Anaheim and Orlando. It looks nothing like Howarts, other than having towers. That, however, is a common feature of real and fictional European castles on which both Cinderella's castle and Hogwarts are based. In terms of looking different, Cinderalla's castle has one central tower while Hogwarts has numerous towers of varying height spread unevenly across its grounds.

Walt Disney was a very forward-thinking individual. "Keep moving forward," that's his motto.

First of all............let's get a few things straight.

Disney's Logo is NOT Cinderella's Castle.....it's actually the FIRST castle built, which was SNOW WHITE'S castle, in California.....in the Original Disney LAND.

Many don't know or realize, that each castle , of course belongs to a different Princess.

When Disney WORLD was built in Florida.......that is Cinderella's Castle. Snow White was FIRST.

When Paris Disney was built, that is officially AURORA's Castle, from Sleeping Beauty.

The difference is.....each castle will have artwork and stained glass Windows, to THOSE specific princesses.

When they built TOKYO Disney......oddly, they broke with this rule......and the Castle there.........was a sort of mish mash of all them. ....and you can find artwork representing many princesses,----- and statues of Snow White in the gardens......and a Cinderella fountain near by.

So not really sure who actually owns that castle.

and then they Built Hong Kong Disney.......and I haven't been to that one yet, so no idea what the deal is there.

In any case.......Hogwarts, looks nothing LIKE the Disney Castle........but, the Disney Castle, is in fact, modeled after a REAL castle, in Germany.

Strange how they have the story of Sleeping Beauty in the walking tour of the castle in Disneyland...! Disneyland's castle is Aurora's actually.

They didn't. Many people don't know that while Cinderella's Castle is the most recognizable symbol of Disney (next to Mickey Mouse, of course) It is Cinderella's and Prince Charming's names that are on the deed to the castle, so it belonged to them, not Disney.

What is interesting was that about 30 or so years ago Cinderella and Prince Charming decided to downsize their housing. What the heck, the kids were out of the castle, what with ruling Duchies, Earldoms and Kingdoms of their own, the energy bills were outrageous, Fairy Godmother would visit for weeks at a time and mooch, and Cinderella was, quite frankly, tired of thousands of random strangers (some of them incredibly rude) wandering through the castle snapping pictures and requesting selfies with her every day. The rat race had become a royal pain in the tuchus, so to speak.

So they put the castle up for sale with Century 17 Real Estate, and it was purchased by one Albus Dumbledore for approximately 2.1 Million Knuts, or $10.25 Million American.

The Royal Couple has since renounced their Fantasyland Citizenship, told The Mouse to take a long walk of a short pier, moved to Grand Cayman and bought a simple, yet luxurious house that sits directly on Seven Mile Beach, where they are enjoying a life of running Cindy's Grog and Ale house (right on the waterfront in Georgetown...best ribs and wings in the Caymans, right in between the Maragritaville and the Ron Jon Surf Shop), relaxing on the beach, fishing off their 35 foot yacht, entertaining the kids and grandchildren when they come to visit, and, best of all, paying no taxes....because Grand Cayman is a totally tax free island.

Now THERE is a couple "living happily ever after."
