How likely is it that someone in a homeless shelter is escaping abuse and only staying there until they get their feet on the ground?

    Very likely

    Nobody really wants to be in a homeless shelter.

    don't know how well this compares to any kind of national average, but in the one shelter I am familiar with, I'd say about 90%d

    It's possible although most of them are drug addicts who are unable to adapt to society and get a job.

    There are lots of places like that for women, but very few for men! How sexist is that???
