What does it mean when it says v-run on an ekg?

It means a series of ventricular beats - usually at least three, but not enough to be formally identified as V-Tach.  Technically, there is no such thing, and anything more than two consecutive PVCs is V-Tach.

But the term is still used.

The ventrical is supposed to fire based on a signal from the atrium. The v-run is a series of premature ventricular contractions occurring without regard to the signal from the atrium.
