Why does heart failure take so long?

    Because the body will try to compensate by maintaining cardiac output with an increased heart rate, increased contractility of the heart, and by narrowing blood vessels.

    Deterioration does not happen all at once.

    cuz we don't eat for health, we eat for flavor.......you were planning on dying sooner ?

    The heart is very strong, so it takes a while to really degrade its functioning.
