Is meat eating really dangerous for health?

Various studies say that eating meat is linked to cancer and early death. Only vegetarian diet may prevent against cancer and heart diseases.

    In moderation it's okay. Depends what kind of meat you eat.

    There are lots of studies that show a connection between cardiovascular diseases, cancer, high cholesterol levels on one side and meat on the other. Meat has animal fat and that is a known risk factor. The statistics could be misleading though... People who eat meat, generally eat fewer vegetables and fruit and could possibly be less healthy in their general way of life. The figures are not easily interpreted. 

    The "we're made to eat meat because we were hunters once upon a time"-argument isn't 100% valid. There are tribes, cultures, and people all over the world who eat all kinds of things. From the Eskimos, who eat practically nothing else, to the Indians who don't eat any meat at all.

    Then there are other studies that show very little negative effects of meat if it's of high quality. A general problem with industrially produced meat is high levels of antibiotics and growth hormones, especially in the US. And that's not healthy.

    And to save the planet and stop climate change, it's better to eat vegetarian food... There's no way around that.

    Other than the #fat content of meat I don't know, time to ask google as I like #porkchops. In the UK we are told to cut down on fat, but a man on #lifebelowzero said that fat has all the #nutrients in it.

    Humans need protein. Meat has protein.
