That's up to you. Some people never take a live class but use videos and DVDs by respected instructors. Others prefer live classes. If you take a live class, you may want to find out where the instructor(s) got their yoga education. You want instructors who know what they are doing and know more about yoga than what the positions are supposed to look like.
